Demi Lovato Is Giving Her Fans Free Mental Health Counseling During Her Tour

Who knew a concert could fix your life? Demi Lovato recently stopped at Good Morning America to share that she’ll be helping fans access free mental care assistance at all of her tour stops.

The singer’s Tell Me You Love Me Tour struck a partnership with the mental health and wellness center Demi co-owns, CAST Centers. With a focus on addiction, depression, anxiety and combinations of those disorders, the organization is one that’s close to Demi’s heart—she has been extremely candid about her own struggles with depression, drug addiction and bipolar disorder. Demi’s run will also feature another artist who has been open about her struggles with mental health, Kehlani, as a supporting act.

Before each show, Lovato plans to enlist speakers to have therapy sessions, with ticket-holders being eligible for a free counseling session just by signing up.  “We’re also helping out with different charities from around the country,” Demi added. “So it’ll be an incredible, very moving and inspiring experience.”

This is going to be Demi’s second time bringing CAST along on her tour, having offered a similar set up during her 2016 Future Now Tour alongside Nick Jonas. “They went to CAST on tours and realized they needed to get sober or they needed to better themselves in some other way,” she explained to GMA host Robin Roberts about her fans. “It’s changed lives and I want to be able to do that again.”

Sitting alongside her CAST Center co-owner Mike Bayer, Lovato expressed how much she understands the importance of her role in continuing the dialogue about mental health and substance abuse. “I make it my life goal to inspire other people. I think that it’s important for me to use my voice for more than just singing.”
