Whole Foods ‘chicken salad’ recalled due to being tuna salad

More than 400 pounds of “buffalo style chicken salad” sold at Whole Foods is being recalled for an unusual reason: it’s actually tuna salad.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Serviceannounced the 12.5-ounce containers, labeled “buffalo style chicken salad” and sold at Whole Foods stores in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, are being recalled because they are actually mislabeled tuna salad.

The USDA said the affected containers were made June 27 and bear the establishment number “P-8827” inside the agency’s mark of inspection.
