Riviera Broadcasting is seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineer/IT to oversee all aspects of the engineering operations for Riviera’s three Phoenix stations – Hot 97.5/ 103.9, Power 98.3/ 96.1, and The Wow Factor 95.1/94.9.
The Broadcast Engineer/IT will be an integral part of the engineering department. This position combines broadcast engineering and IT skills needed to keep the stations running 24/7 along with supporting each department in their day-to-day operations. The Broadcast Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stations remain on-air continuously, without technical issues that could affect programming production or transmission. This involves working in studios, equipment rooms, and transmission sites to perform maintenance and upgrades. As the Broadcast Engineer you will often be on-call, expected to receive and follow-up system alarms and calls for help from on-air talent. The Engineer will spend a large portion of their time working on IT systems.
- Installation, maintenance and repair of all broadcast and computer systems within the radio station
- Execute and or coordinate remote live broadcasts at community events
- End-user desktop support and proficiency with Windows OS, various radio systems software and networking
- Maintain and repair of station vehicles
- Building and facility maintenance
- Ensure EAS units are relaying properly and airing legally required alerts, keep logs
- Working knowledge of all tower/transmitter sites and back up the tower engineer as needed.
A qualified candidate must be passionate about radio with a great attitude, proactive and a team player with excellent communication and people skills.
- 5 years’ experience working in a broadcast facility with a related Associates degree or 10 years hands-on maintenance experience with AM, FM Radio or Television facilities.
- Knowledge of basic IP Networking, Satellite up-linking facilities, XDS-ATX/PICO hardware and software, Wide Orbit for Radio and Traffic Automation systems, digital audio, logic techniques, and basic programming.
- SBE Certification preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license for operation of company vehicles is required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, kneel and work on elevated surfaces.
- This position may require flexible work hours and possibly some holidays.
Assists Programming and Sales in various functions as needed. This includes but is not limited to: planning, setting up and staffing events; maintenance of all on-site promotional equipment and supplies, including station vehicles, tents, generators, broadcast equipment, and all other promotional accessories; contesting assistance and special assignments.
Must be 18 years or older, outgoing, organized and a dependable team player with a good driving record. Must be proficient in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and the Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to work a flexible schedule (including weekends and evening events) Ability to lift objects in excess of 50lbs required.

As a promotions intern, you will learn th e general functions of the promotions sector of a radio station. We are looking for students who are interested in a learning opportunity; where they can extend Radio Broadcasting education beyond the classroom while gaining valuable experience in the industry.
The internship will cover a quarter/semester period of approximately twenty (20) hours per week, with a schedule to be arranged by the intern, and the intern coordinator.
Promotions Intern Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet and greet the public at station events and interact with station clientele.
- Assist in preparing, setting up and implementing projects from start to finish.
- Project examples are: concerts, remotes, direct marketing and cross promotions with other media facets (TV and print)
