Have you ever wanted the opportunity to break Guinness World Records? Or watch a laser show to Taylor Swift’s music? Or even walk through a working digestive system breakdown? Although these things seem abnormal, that is a typical day at the Arizona Science Center, despite being geared towards younger kids to ignite their imagination to create excitement for learning about science and the science behind everyday things.
It is never too early to pique someone’s interest in science. Love for science can come at any age. That is why there is an exhibit for anyone of any age. Each exhibition provides a quirky, memorable experience.
The Science Behind, the Guinness World Records, is one of the traveling exhibits. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to break actual Guinness World Records right here in Phoenix, Arizona! Who doesn’t love a good challenge to beat world records and get printed for making history for odd hidden talents?
Hard work, dedication, and a little knowledge of how science works can go a long way. Especially if it leads to making history, also opening doors of conversation and connection building leading to the discovery of learning even more science knowledge.
The documentary Reasons for Hope is shown on the big screen in the Irene P. Flinn Theater, following Jane Goddall’s spiritual journey and finding hope, even in the least expected places. Trailblazer researcher Jane Goodall and her documentary team for chimpanzee conservation efforts, Goodall brought her knowledge and hosted her very own private Q&A panel.
During this time, kids had the opportunity to ask any questions regarding her work with chimpanzees. These memorable moments are possible because of the Arizona Science Center’s work to provide the best experience for museum-goers.
Need Friday night plans? For an extra $5.13, you can experience the awe-inspiring Taylor Swift laser show in the in-house planetarium show during Arizona Science Center After Hours events. Showings sell out quickly, be sure to plan. Currently, there are two shows at 5:13/ 6:13. However, due to popular demand, a third show has been added for 7:13. Don’t forget to book ahead of time to ensure your seat.
Who wouldn’t want to experience this phenom of a show? Laser shows are exciting on their own. The fact that it’s Taylor Swift music makes this laser show much cooler. Friday night after hours also allows families to bundle and save on the Taylor Swift laser show and Jane Goodall’s Reasons For Hope documentary—a win-win.
Ever wanted to know what it would be like to create hands-on science-based engineering projects? Next door is a once-history museum turned into the CREATE Maker Space. This hub offers many workshops to foster imagination and make dreams a reality. Another spectacular thing about Arizona Science and CREATE Maker Space is that different groups or organizations can rent both centers.
In the past high schools have hosted their prom there, turning the unthinkable into a reality. Most high school students can’t say they could do karaoke inside a planetarium. Anything is possible with a slight imagination. Alongside proms, Arizona Science Center has also been the hub for the Native American Basketball Invitation. While the tournament was next door, teams from all over, including New Zealand, could explore and let their minds run wild.
School is back in session, but the Arizona Science Center remains open daily from 10:30 AM- 4:00 PM. Another cool thing is they can bring the science center to you with their Science On The Go mobile!
